Senior Geotechnical Engineer, Group Leader

G2S Environmental Consulting Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team as the Head of our Geotechnical Engineering Services Group. As a valued member within a vibrant, flexible, and enjoyable environment, you will be helping G2S expand while working with our existing clients. G2S is a young growing company, and the successful candidates will share our enthusiasm to grow our business in the field of geotechnical engineering.

The Geotechnical Engineer responsibilities are:

  • •  Project management and scheduling
  • •  Assist in building the geotechnical services group
  • •  Preparation of fee estimates and proposals for a variety of clients and sectors
  • •  Preparation of concise geotechnical reports complete with pertinent recommendations
  • •  Site Investigation: subsurface site programs selection of laboratory test regime, interpretation and documentation of results on a wide variety of transportation, municipal, commercial and residential development, and resource related projects
  • •  Implement project risk control and loss management
  • •  Carry out or supervise field inspection of construction work
  • •  Write/Review proposals and technical reports for complex projects
  • •  Overseeing investigation programs
  • •  Supervise, guide and review work of junior staff
  • •  Communicate with clients throughout project duration

 

The Geotechnical Engineer qualifications are:

  • •  Undergraduate Degree in Civil/Geological Engineering with registration as a P.Eng. in Ontario
  • •  At least 8 years of relevant experience in Geotechnical Engineering with emphasis on projects in the Southern Ontario market
  • •  Experience with materials testing in field and laboratory environments
  • •  Knowledgeable with construction contracts and specifications
  • •  Strong analytical skills

Geotechnical Lab Supervisor

G2S Environmental Consulting Inc. is currently seeking a Geotechnical Lab Supervisor to join our Geotechnical Engineering Services Group. As a valued member of the team within a vibrant, flexible, and enjoyable environment, you will be helping G2S expand while working with our existing clients. G2S is a young growing company, and the successful candidates will share our enthusiasm to grow our business in the field of geotechnical engineering.

Your responsibilities:

  • •  Managing laboratory operations, equipment and resources
  • •  Communication with clients and team members
  • •  Ensure appropriate certifications are up to date and maintained (CCIL)
  • •  Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment
  • •  Managing requirements of CNSC for the use and storage of nuclear density gauges
  • •  Occasional visits to project sites
  • •  Assisting G2S project managers as required

The Skills, Knowledge, And Ability We Seek:

  • •  Experience as a Geotechnical Lab Supervisor is preferred
  • •  Undergraduate degree or diploma in related technical or engineering field
  • •  At least 5 years of relevant experience in laboratory soil, aggregate and concrete testing
  • •  Familiar with CCIL and ASTM methods and standards, and CNSC requirements
  • •  Current or pending registration C.E.T.

Geo-Environmental Technician

G2S Environmental Consulting Inc. is currently seeking a Geo-Environmental Technician to join our Burlington or Stouffville offices. As a valued member of the team within a vibrant, flexible, and enjoyable environment, you will be helping G2S expand while working with our existing clients. G2S is a young growing company, and the successful candidates will share our enthusiasm to grow our business in the field of geotechnical and environmental consulting

The Technician responsibilities are:

  • • Provide project support work in the field, office and laboratory
  • • Conduct field testing, including compaction and concrete testing
  • • Assisting with environmental field work
  • •  Comply with workplace health and safety practices
  • •  Assisting G2S project managers as required

 

Qualifications:

  • •  Undergraduate degree or diploma in related technical or engineering field
  • •  Experience is an asset but not a requirement
  • •  Must have access to a vehicle and hold a valid drivers license
  • •  Flexible and self motivated
  • •  Excellent oral and written communication skills
