Risk Assessment is a process that incorporates site-specific conditions in the development of property-specific soil, groundwater and sediment standards. It involves the technical, scientific examination of the nature and magnitude of risk to define potential contaminant effects to human health and the environment at a site. The Risk Assessment approach addresses human and ecological receptors that may be exposed to contaminants.
A Risk Assessment can be more economical than conventional remediation and is often implemented when conventional methods are not time-efficient or cost-effective, or where there are physical constraints. Our Risk Assessments can be completed for Due Diligence purposes or to support the filing of a Record of Site Condition (RSC) in accordance with Ontario Regulation 153/04.
